Itineraries and means of transportation; such as trains, ferries, local public buses, sightseeing buses, and rental cars as well as admission charges have been deliberately deleted due to their ever increasing costs; otherwise, this booklet would soon be outdated.
Reservations for accommodations have been a problem to me. Selections are available from first-class western-style hotels and traditional Japanese inns, ranging down to economical businessmen's hotels and Japanese government lodges; the latter are operated by various ministries, organizations and associations throughout the country.
Prior to or upon arrival at your destination, you should obtain a free English brochure, which will contain colorful, picturesque descriptions and detailed information of the area to be visited. You should also consult your local travel agent for up-to-date information concerning the various expenses involved.
When you become accustomed to traveling in Japan, you will find numerous places to visit in this area that are suitable for adventurous visitors who want to get away from guided tours and explore Japan for themselves.
