Jan. 1: At Itsukushima Shrine. Dedication of Sacred Costumes takes place at midnight, and New Year Ceremonies at 10:00 in the morning.
Early Apr.: Near Hiroshima Castle, the Gokoku Shrine holds its Grand Spring Festival.
May 3-5: Hiroshima Flower Festival, Peace Boulevard
May (last Sat. & Sun): Daimonji Festival, Kabe-cho
May (end): Rice Planting Festival. Chiyoda-cho
Jun. (May 4-5 lunar cal): Einari Festival, often called "Toka-san". Enryuji Temple at Chuo-dori Ave. Ceremonial wearing of summer dressing gowns (yukata)
Jun. 16 (lunar cal.): Sumiyoshi Festival held at Sumiyoshi Shrine, Kako-machi
Jun. 17 (lunar cal.): Kangen Festival at Miyajima Shrine
Jul. 18 (lunar cal.): Tamatori Festival at Itsukushima Shrine
Jul. (end): Harbor Festival at the Port of Hiroshima
Aug. 5-11: Tanabata Festival in the shopping district

Aug. 6: Floating paper lanterns on all rivers of Hiroshima

Aug. (mid): Grand Bon-Dance performed at Municipal Baseball Stadium
Oct. (mid): Mushroom picking season
Oct. 22-23: Gokoku Shrine holds its annual Grand Fall Festival near Hiroshima Castle, where Hiroshima Fall Festival takes place coucurrently
Nov.: Chrysanthemum Flower Festival
Nov. (end): Inoko Festival throughout the city
Nov. 18-20: Ebisu Festival at Ebisu Shrine, Ebisu-cho
